Currently CEO and Co Founder of PlaceIQ, at the intersection of advertising, location and big data, Duncan has a passion for and background in early stage companies. Prior to PlaceIQ, through founding and leading a venture backed consumer Internet business with the goal of enabling and empowering users of location aware devices, which built upon time spent working on RFID and universal positioning startups. Before that Duncan led the operations of a rapidly growing retail organization, and also built and led IS Solutions INC, a premier Silicon Valley based System Integrator.
Outside of the startup environment Duncan has also made an impact for one of the world’s largest organizations in working for ExxonMobil, in the UK and Asia.
Steve has a proven track record of incubating new technology companies and leading them through successful growth. His background in enterprise, Internet, large data analytics and geospatial information systems led to the technical vision for PlaceIQ. He has developed novel software solutions in several industries and worked with a great variety of “Big Data”. In the early 90′s Steve was one of the first 20 employees at Trilogy. In the late 90’s Steve helped architect a Web 1.0 content portal and purchasing transaction system. Later he was a founding member of living.com and built a highly acclaimed consumer retail site. After the Internet boom, Steve immersed himself in Big Data. He joined the management team at Nuance where he helped scale the development and deployment of voice recognition systems. Next, he helped a bioinformatics startup build its core data capture and data analysis platform. After that, he incubated a startup in the insurance claims processing and appraisal space. And most recently he led software and systems development at Digital Globe — owner of the world’s largest earth imagery database.
Tony’s experience and achievements in the ad tech field are proven. His sales and operations successes at DoubleClick and Yahoo were recognized by Sequoia Capital, who tapped him to build the revenue models and sales teams at both YouTube and AdMob. Most recently Tony was General Manager, North America, at mobile advertising company Mojiva. There he was an integral driver of both Mojiva, the mobile ad network, and Mocean Mobile, the ad serving platform. Tony holds the distinction of being the only four-time Platinum Sales Award MVP at Yahoo, and has been a key catalyst in several successful acquisitions throughout his illustrious career.
Having come from Internet giants such as Yahoo!, YouTube and Google, Anna arms the company with a tremendous amount of industry experience and success. She was an initial member of the Operations team at Align Technology where she helped lead the company through a successful IPO. From there she worked in the Sales Operations team as an Advertising Account Rep for Yahoo! where she also drove special projects to improve process and adserving efficiencies. She then went to YouTube as the founding member of YouTube’s Operations team building out the Ad Ops, Technical Production, DSM Administration, and Ad Technology teams. After Anna took YouTube through a successful acquisition by Google, she rolled out monetization to NASO, EMEA, and LATAM before settling in as Head Of Media Operations for YouTube, Orkut and the Google Content Network for JAPAC. Before joining PlaceIQ, Anna was SVP Global Operations for Mocean Mobile and Mojiva.com, where she ran Client Services for the Brand Sales & Direct Response teams, Ad Ops, Technical Account Management and Publisher Operations.
At PlaceIQ Derek leads the development of the strategy team and works closely with the executive team to further refine the firm’s go-to-market strategy, product roadmap, and further advance both agency and client partnerships. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Derek led the mobility practice at Starcom MediaVest Group. Derek was responsible for the advancement of mobile capabilities, operationalizing, mobile strategy, partnerships, innovation, and new business development. Derek was integral in developing the mobile agenda and strategic imperatives across the holding company’s diverse client roster including but not limited to Walmart, Kraft, Samsung, E*TRADE, Novartis, and many others. Derek is a hybrid digital marketer and mobile specialist with the proven ability to understand, differentiate, and create competitive advantage with ad tech platforms. Derek began his career at Motorola in 1994 and has since held marketing, product development, and strategy roles. After graduating form B–School Derek joined Unilever where he managed and launched two of the firm’s most successful and iconic consumer brands Axe and Degree for Men.
The road to PlaceIQ for Kevin has been long and varied, and has primed him for the unique challenges ahead. Having dealt with big data since the start of his career, Kevin worked with large telecommunications providers throughout the world to architect and implement large-scale billing and customer care systems. From there, Kevin moved into the unique realm of Internet startups serving many roles from architecture to operations for Requisite Technology, Local Matters, and most recently PublicEarth. Kevin brings a unique blend of technical and business talent to PlaceIQ. He has a proven track record of laying the foundation from which to grow the operational framework of PlaceIQ. Kevin is a graduate of Northern Arizona University holding dual Bachelor’s degrees in Accountancy and Computer Information Systems.
Alexandra brings a wide range of experience in content development, market research and affiliate marketing to PlaceIQ. Prior to coming to PlaceIQ, Alexandra was involved in various entrepreneurial environments including PublicEarth, where she managed international research and content development. She has also utilized her organizational and research skills to perform international market analyses in affiliate marketing, study market segmentation in the automobile industry and conduct data analysis. Alexandra possesses a flair for creativity and a passion for knowledge, which define her role at PlaceIQ. Alexandra is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
Niladri is the glue that holds the business and technology/data components of PlaceIQ together. Responsible for building the complete internal and customer facing software stacks, his charter produces an endless number of exciting problems spanning big data analytics, high throughput/low latency algorithms and geo-spatial visualizations. Before joining the team, Niladri was a Core Strategist in the New York and London offices of Goldman Sachs. The Core group developed and maintained the firm’s central trading and risk management system, SecDB, which has been widely regarded as a major technological breakthrough and substantial competitive edge for the business over the last several decades. In addition to the complex, quantitatively rigorous applications he worked on in the financial services industry, he brings substantial experience developing and releasing commercial software to hundreds of millions of people worldwide. During his time at Microsoft in the Windows Live and SQL Server groups, he lead multiple product releases from inception through deployment. Though the blue chip pedigree has proven to be a huge asset, Niladri seems to have come full circle in his career. He started at a very small company focusing on business activity monitoring while completing his BS/MS in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Florida. With a focus on databases and artificial intelligence (specifically expert systems/machine learning), his early academic focus and passion for being a venerable jack of all trades while working at a startup have found the perfect home at PlaceIQ.
Jonathan Lenaghan is head of our data science team, working to make sense of the deluge of geospatial data that is becoming available. After receiving his PhD in physics at Yale University, Jonathan worked as a researcher studying phase transitions in the very early universe. His academic work focused on developing theoretical and computational tools to understand the statistical properties of very hot, strongly interacting matter. After leaving academia, Jonathan worked in scientific publishing as an assistant editor for the Physical Review, a leading physics journal. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Jonathan spent several years in the quantitative trading industry where he applied large-scale optimization and machine learning techniques to tick-level equity pricing data and developed several real-time trading algorithms and analytics platforms. Jonathan brings a wide-rage of computational and mathematical skills to PlaceIQ as well as a passion for machine learning, visualization and building large data analysis pipelines.
Drew Breunig joins PlaceIQ after spending the better part of a decade crafting brand and media strategies for advertising agencies and their clients, including HP, Glaxo Smith Klein, EA, and Boost Mobile. Most recently, Drew used this advertising expertise and his computer science background to design and implement marketing intelligence applications for Omnicom Media Group’s data and analytics organization, Annalect. There he worked to transmute location, social, media, and audience data into forms beneficial to media planners and marketers. With a degree in cultural anthropology, Drew is uniquely positioned to understand how big data can create and identify valuable audiences for the advertising and media industry.
Manik brings a wealth of mobile advertising DNA to PlaceIQ. Most recently he was Director of Monetization at Amobee (acquired by SingTel in 2012), where he built the publisher business from the ground up, helping premium publishers like Accuweather, Sprint and Boost Mobile exponentially grow their mobile revenue using mediation, exchange and adserving technologies. While at Amobee, Manik built a global advertising and business operations team that managed advertising platforms catering to 1.2Bn mobile subscribers through Amobee’s global operator business. Prior to Amobee, Manik was part of AdMob’s marketing team and helped Quasar Media (acquired by WPP in 2007), an interactive agency in New Delhi to build their mobile advertising unit. Manik graduated with a bachelor’s degree from University of Southern California in electrical engineering and wireless technology. He enjoys traveling and is looking forward to finding some time to go back to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Rob Sprungman has been innovating and developing digital strategy for more than 15 years. As an early digital adopter, he helped develop sales for publishers like Morningstar.com and Weather.com. Afterwards, Rob opened the Midwest Sales offices for Electronic Arts, delivering strategic initiatives for brands like McDonald’s, Ford, Target, and many more. Rob then went on to blaze the Midwest territory for AdMob in 2007, where he established himself as a leader in the fast growing mobile industry and a key member in building partnerships with Fortune 100 brands. Following the AdMob acquisition by Google, Rob led the Google mobile practice for the Americas in the automotive vertical. Rob’s passion is to help brands best deliver their digital strategy in mobile, and today he is developing key new boundaries in that channel with PlaceIQ.
Eric DeLange is a nine-year veteran of the digital sales landscape. He cut his teeth in sales and account management at Yahoo!, with a focus on helping retail advertisers like WalMart and Lowe’s accomplish their online branding goals. At the mobile ad network, AdMob, Eric worked cross vertical as a sales executive, helping grow account revenue over 500% in less than two years. Following its acquisition by Google, Eric served as lead account executive helping TV and Theatrical advertisers execute successful mobile branding and performance campaigns. Eric became Head of Mobile Brand Solutions for North America at Google, where he helped manage and grow mobile revenue for the US and Canada. He focused on crafting, communicating and implementing go-to market strategies for mobile search and display products as well as leading the account management team for mobile display. As one of only five Gold Award winners in 2012, Eric’s achievements in sales leadership and management were recognized broadly at Google.
Therran Oliphant took the circuitous route to the ad tech industry through varied experience in myriad sales, product and marketing roles for companies in the automotive industry. This has included roles at Manheim Auctions, and automotive web development group Izmocars. These opportunities have afforded Therran the benefit of being able to strategically develop, market and sell products and services in the B2B marketplace. Most recently, while at Polk, Therran was instrumental in developing products that allowed the company to proliferate its data throughout the advertising technology ecosystem, by strategically designing data products; creating partnerships in the industry and developing business opportunities with new clients. Through these wide ranging experiences, he has had to assess the affect data has on business intelligence, product development, and advertising optimization. Therran holds a B.S. in Marketing and Advertising Promotions, from Northern Arizona University, and an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Eastern Michigan University.
Matt has spent the last seven years as a mobile evangelist at a variety of agencies. Most recently, Matt served as Director of Shopper Marketing and Mobile for FRWD where he oversaw some of the first, and most successful PlaceIQ campaigns. In addition to overseeing all mobile and “localized” digital media, Matt had been focused on helping clients such as General Mills and 3M craft their holistic approach to mobile marketing, with a particular focus on Shopper Marketing. Prior to the FRWD acquisition of BrandinHand, where Matt served as Mobile Director for P&G’s exclusive Mobile Agency of Record, he managed the mobile strategy, planning, buying and execution for more than 20 marquee P&G brands such as COVERGIRL, Pantene, Olay, Gillette, Pampers and Tide. Matt specializes in helping brands navigate the treacherous waters of mobile and leverage localized media to solve business problems — making PlaceIQ a perfect fit.
Danton joins PlaceIQ as the Senior Manager of Client Services. He began his career at Google after graduating with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Social Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Danton brings a wealth of account services experience and a passion for mobile display advertising from his various roles at Google, YouTube, and AdMob. While working full-time, he obtained his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Danton is dedicated to understanding the business needs of PlaceIQ’s key clients and ensuring the development, implementation, and success of advertising solutions necessary to satisfy their marketing objectives.
Rex has a passion for digital marketing and brings a uniquely diverse background of experience to the PlaceIQ team. Strategically crafting digital advertising strategies across online video, social, mobile, display, and search for Fortune 500 brands in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, he strengthened client relationships to help grow revenue 122% YOY while at Google. His positive impact extended to those around him as he was accepted into Google’s highly competitive leadership program as well as appointed a new hire trainer for two years. Prior, Rex worked on the Equities Client Relationship Management team at Goldman Sachs, as well as earned his Masters in Education and taught 8th grade science in East New York, Brooklyn. He received his Bachelor’s in Biology and Classics from the University of Southern California.
Since joining the PlaceIQ team as employee number five, Joe has worn a variety of hats in executing both internal and external facing projects for groups ranging from product to finance, and from marketing to account management and ad operations. Previously, Joe was VP Operations at a leading private market financial research company, where he managed business operations, research and data, sales, and product. Joe’s research has been featured in VentureBeat, Fortune, and Reuters and he has appeared on Bloomberg Television’s Bloomberg West. Joe is a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Sandeep Biswas joins PlaceIQ after 6 years at Google, where he worked on monetizing YouTube by launching new and custom ad products. He worked with various Product and Engineering teams to launch first-of-its-kind ads such as the InVideo and Masthead, which were later adopted by the IAB and, now, almost by all publishers venturing into new rich media ad types. After launching these products, he focussed on supporting both Sales and AdOps teams, providing custom technical solutions for the former, and training and providing technical support for the latter, globally. When YouTube’s focus moved toward commercialization, he worked on launching support for Remarketing, Live Stream ads, VAST and Leanback (non-desktop ads) before finally turning his focus on mobile ads, especially with both YouTube’s and AdMob’s platform migration from DFP5 to XFP. Prior to Google, Sandeep comes from a world of rich media ads from his two years at Knight Ridder Digital and advertising theory and practice from his Master’s degree at San Jose State.
Kyle joins PlaceIQ as the Creative Services Manager. A graphic designer with over 3 years of mobile advertising experience, Kyle brings a wealth of design knowledge to the table, continuously pushing the creative limits. Kyle graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Visual Design as well as extensive computer science skills. His unique skill set was first utilized at AdMob where he was one of only two designers on the sales team. After getting acquired by Google, he helped develop and train the creative team as it grew into a team of 8. Years of experience helping numerous Fortune 500 companies build mobile experiences has given him a strong understanding of how to market brands in an always changing industry.
Christina is a creative specialist who has a sharp eye for design that is clean and simple yet effective and attractive. Prior to PlaceIQ, she has gained experience as a graphic designer working with the American Red Cross, Jeely and Bleiler, and Mcmim Design Studio. Having to work with various types of clients, Christina can quickly grasp the brand identity and is able to produce consistent designs. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech.
Natalie brings a wide range of experience in market research, marketing analytics, and content creation and management to PlaceIQ. A product marketing manager with years of experience in the business-to-business industrial marketplace, Natalie is passionate about leading teams to solve problems and reach their goals. After years as a news reporter, writing for publications such as CNN.com, Popular Science magazine, and MVP Publications of London, she obtained her MBA from the Kelley School of Business. She also received her Bachelor’s in Journalism from Indiana University and was extremely involved at the school’s daily newspaper, eventually becoming the Editor-in-Chief.
Young joins PlaceIQ as an Account Manager, dedicated to partnering with brands to meet marketing objectives. Young has a passion for mobile, having vast knowledge of the space through his experiences in ad operations and strategic account management at AdMob and Google. Young is a graduate of University of California Berkeley with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Economics.
Rachit Srivastava is a Data Scientist at PlaceIQ where he is using machine learning and signal processing to explore large location based data sets. Prior to PlaceIQ, Rachit spent several years in the financial industry applying quantitative and statistical methods to commodities trading. He also has worked in structured credit trading where he used machine learning to extract trading signals. He holds a MS in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honors Class I) from the University of New South Wales.
Khoa is a Product and Data analyst at PlaceIQ responsible for designing taxonomies and rule sets for the research and evaluation of large geospatial datasets. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Khoa worked as an Associate in Data & Research at PrivCo.com with key responsibilities in large financial datasets and financial valuation models. Before PrivCo.com, Khoa worked in the Credit Risk Division at M&T Bank building loss models for their indirect consumer credit risk segment. His past research and experiences also include VHE Gamma Ray Astronomy (University of Utah), Patent and Intellectual Property (Kalow & Springut, LLP), and unsupervised machine learning on incomplete datasets (Columbia University). Khoa is a graduate of Columbia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics.
Roman comes to PlaceIQ after previously being Program Manager at Bing, where he focused on ranking and classification for image and video search. Roman’s vast skillset includes machine learning, data analysis, and product management, gained from experiences at Microsoft, Anyclip, and Brown University. Roman is passionate about finding meaning in data, as well as, product quality and is dedicated to maintaining a standard of excellence in PlaceIQ’s various audience-targeting products.
Asha is on the finance team at PlaceIQ, dividing her time between financial planning, accounting, recruiting, and business operations. She joins PlaceIQ from Flavorpill Media, where she helped run finance and manage a variety of other business activities. Asha got her B.A. at New York University, where she majored in economics, minored in communications, and studied abroad in Prague.
Parker Winchester is a software engineer at PlaceIQ. Before joining PlaceIQ, Parker has interned at Barclays Capital and NASA Ames Research Center. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Chemical Engineering.
Vikas Shanbhogue is a software engineer at PlaceIQ. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Vikas worked in Operations & Management Consulting for clients across a variety of industries. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Jenna is joining Place IQ as an Ad Operations Specialist. She received a BS in Mathematical Sciences from Loyola College in Maryland. After a brief stint as a high school Math teacher, Jenna decided she wanted to get into the growing mobile technology industry. She was a Delivery Manager at Millennial Media for three years and now is excited to jumpstart her career here at PlaceIQ.
Liliang Li is a software engineer from Shanghai. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in computing science from Griffith College of Dublin, Ireland in 2006 and in 2010 he graduated from New York University’s Polytechnic Institute with a master of science degree in computer science. Before joining the PlaceIQ team he previously worked at SecondMarket as a software engineer from 2010 to 2013, where his main responsibilities included helping the company building their social platforms for investors and issuers of the secondary markets to connect, engage and ultimately do transactions. He has experience working in an agile environment and with continuous integration and deployment.
Bruce joins PlaceIQ as sales director, overseeing east coast accounts. Bruce brings 10+ experience in digital media, developing solutions for major brand advertisers across various platforms, including mobile, online video, display, and advanced/interactive TV. Prior to PlaceIQ, Bruce oversaw east coast sales for SoundHound, a leading music discovery platform for mobile devices. Before SoundHound, Bruce ran lifestyle category development for HealthiNation, a leading health video provider for on-demand platforms.
Rohan is a software engineer who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2013. He is originally from central New Jersey near the Princeton area. He is a sports aficionado who loves to follow as well as play basketball, tennis, and football. In his spare time, he enjoys reading (Game of Thrones!), video games, and good movies.
Barbara graduated from Stony Brook University with an M.S. in Computer Science in 2007. She has Worked at a variety of different companies, including Starwood Hotels and Goldman Sachs. Originally from Poland, Barbara came to the U.S. when she was 10 years old. She loves to play volleyball and read interesting books.
Amol Kapila is a Data Scientist at PlaceIQ, where he applies machine learning techniques to better understand large data sets. Before joining PlaceIQ, Amol worked on PayPal’s Data Science team, helping to extract value from PayPal’s treasure trove of user information. Amol has an M.S. in statistics from the University of Washington and an Sc.B. in mathematics from Brown University.
Evan comes to PlaceIQ with 15 years of experience at a variety of organizations, including Avon Cosmetics, Nelson Pope & Voorhis, and the United Nations. His varied background also includes owning a soda warehouse. He obtained his GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) certificate in 2010. Evan received his Bachelors degree in Geography from the University of Delaware. In his free time he is hopelessly addicted to climbing rocks, mountains, frozen waterfalls and even the occasional building if convenient.
Seth brings over ten years of experience in scaling monetization strategies for emerging media to PlaceIQ, where he now manages business operations. Before PlaceIQ, Seth led technical account management for all advertisers at AdMob, which was acquired by Google. At Google, he continued building the mobile economy by forging strategic partnerships with top app developers, and helped them monetize their apps with Google search, DoubleClick, AdMob, and the Google Ad Exchange. Before his time at AdMob, Seth worked at YouTube, where he scaled technical sales operations across Asia Pacific & Latin America, monetized Google’s first social network, and helped build the most efficient display operations team across Google. Passionate about new media trends, he also founded the online advertising operations team for National Public Radio, and helped design and implement a cloud-based system that allowed NPR to monetize decades of audio archives, live steaming, and podcasts.
Michelle joins PlaceIQ as an Account Manager and brings her unique and diverse background to the role. She has worked in a variety of positions within the digital media industry ranging from Human Resources to Ad Operations to Finance, and ultimately leading her to Account Management. Having come from large display and mobile companies such as Google, Yahoo!, and Velti – she is very excited to continue her career in the mobile space here at PlaceIQ. Michelle received her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego where she majored in Psychology and minored in Cognitive Science, as well as studied abroad in England.
Coming from advertising giants Google and Yahoo!, Leon is joining PlaceIQ as a member of the Ad Operations team. Most recently, he was the Senior Manger of Campaign Operations at Mobclix, the mobile ad exchange subsidiary of Velti, Inc., where he helped to build out and manage the global Ops team. In his spare time he enjoys his nonprofit work with the Pelagic Shark Research Foundation and riding his motorcycle.
Gary brings an extensive background in agency planning and 18 years of communications and marketing experience to PlaceIQ. Prior to joining the company, Gary was client-side managing media for ConAgra Foods. He led efforts for a variety of brands such as PF Chang’s, Bertolli, PAM, Reddi-Wip and Marie Callendar’s.
Gary was also in sales at Google and Apple (and Quattro), spearheading Apple’s iAd launch in the Midwest and Google’s Mobile Sales for retail clients across the country. Previously, Gary served on the agency side at MediaCom as the Group Media Director for ConAgra’s 20+ brands. In this position, he led the integration of digital and offline teams to form a fully functioning hybrid group.
Prior to joining MediaCom, Gary was Group Director of Strategy for Prometheus in Chicago, with clients including JCPenney, Northwestern Mutual, Allen-Edmonds, BOSCH, Harris Bank and Bank of Montreal. He also held Director of Strategy and Media Director positions at OMD/DDB Worldwide. He started his career at Publicis/Bloom in Dallas. Gary is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in advertising.
Coming from major media companies such as YouTube, Google and CBS, Caity brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to PlaceIQ. Starting her career on the agency side, she worked for Universal McCann in San Francisco buying and planning for large scale, integrated awareness and direct response online media campaigns. Upon joining YouTube, she account-managed all East territory business, while working in conjunction with teams to create large-scale media programs. After a successful acquisition by Google, she moved on to outside Sales joining the Google CPG Sales vertical managing the top 10 West Coast CPG accounts. She was then recruited to be the international YouTube Regional Sales Lead for Asia Pacific Latin America, which consisted of developing sales strategy, designing and implementing training for all YouTube proposal building and sales pitching. She then moved in-region to Australia to run all YouTube Media Sales. Transitioning into Product Marketing, she worked for CBS Interactive consumer brands including CNET, GameSpot, and TV.com, building and rolling out all major ad programs and sales messaging, while collaborating closely with Ad Operations and Tech teams to create, test, and launch new ad products. As a Bay Area native she returned home and joined YuMe, where she supported the entire Sales organization as the Product Marketing lead for all connected TV, smartphone and tablet video ad products, rolling out all emerging platform products and messaging to market.
Anny started off in the industry at Yahoo! as a Media Delivery Coordinator. From Yahoo, she went to Velti, followed by Compass Labs, which helped support clients with social advertising on both Facebook and Twitter. Nataliya Taiberkov joins PlaceIQ as a Senior Developer with skills in Enterprise Java. She also has a strong background in geolocation from her career with Booz Allen. Nataliya has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from ChernyshevskySaratov State University, Russia as well as an M.S. in Applied Mathematics, ChernyshevskySaratov State University, Russia.
Stan joins PlaceIQ from AppNexus where he was a senior engineer on the data team. He has extensive industry and research experience in computer science. Before receiving Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, he spent several years working for a financial startup.
Justine Wnuck is PlaceIQ’s Office Manager. She came to PlaceIQ from THINK Global School, an international boarding school for 9th to 12th grade students, where she was the Office Manager at their headquarters office in SoHo. Before that she was a Specialist at Apple Grand Central. She got her B.S. in Business Management and International Studies at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
Brian joins PlaceIQ as a member of the Infrastructure team, having served as a sysadmin for over a decade, drawing on experience in programming, database and network administration roles to provide service and technical support. He has lived and worked in the NY metro area for over 15 years, and has learned many things, but has mostly forgotten how to drive a car.
Rebekah joins PlaceIQ as a Campaign Manager and brings with her ad operation knowledge from the past six years. She began her career at Yahoo! where she excelled and was moved into a West Ad Operations Team Lead role. At Yahoo! Rebekah also became the Subject Matter Expert for the new proprietary based ad serving platform APT and provided training to the entire west coast and India. Most recently, Rebekah was a Campaign Manager at Miniclip America where she oversaw the creation and launch of all custom creative executions for the east coast accounts. As a bay area native, Rebekah attended college at San Jose State and received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Communication with a Business Minor.
As Manager of the West Coast Ad Operations team, Christian brings a unique mix of experience having worked in the rewarded mobile world at Tapjoy, and prior to that, in a wide variety of roles at Yahoo!. He’s spent the past nine years in operations and has seen quite a bit; from trafficking and account management to rich media and technical operations. Christian is a graduate of San Jose State University, majoring in Radio, Television, and Film.
Leah joins PlaceIQ as a Campaign Manager, bringing with her the knowledge from the past 5 years spent in the advertising space. She started her career at Yahoo! where she gained a base knowledge of ad operations and the industry in general. That was followed by a time at YuMe where she learned the account management side of the business. Most recently, Leah was the Operations Manager of Mobile at Miniclip. Here she helped set in place a process for mobile operations that lead to the business more than doubling YOY. She is really excited to continue down the mobile path with PlaceIQ.
Jason joins PlaceIQ after having served as VP, technology for PulsePoint, where he oversaw the creation and launch of one of the market’s first real-time bidding (RTB) exchanges. Shao and his team also integrated PulsePoint’s proprietary audience mapping technology across the company’s programmatic offerings, as well as led the development and adoption of the OpenRTB standard. He spent the early years of his career engineering technology solutions for CampusEAI and his alma mater, Rutgers University.
Ralph comes to PlaceIQ from AT&T AdWorks, where he was a Mobile Campaign Manager. There Ralph managed, optimized, and analyzed data for clients such as Samsung, McDonalds, Chase, and Toyota. Prior to AT&T Ralph was a Senior Digital Operations Manager at IDG TechNet where he managed on-line, mobile and video campaigns across several platforms including DFP, Liverail and AdMarvel. He was also instrumental in training new ad ops hires.
Ralph is a native New Yorker, and a Knicks fan. He holds a BA from Rutgers University, with a double major in Communications and Political Science.
Carmem is excited to bring her diverse background and passion for data to the PlaceIQ team. She joins the team after spending time as a media analyst for a Facebook marketing firm and founding her own consulting firm, where she worked on a variety of projects including the 2012 mayoral elections of Eduardo Paes in Rio de Janeiro and Rodrigo Neves in Niterói, Brazil. Prior to that, Carmem spent two years at the World Bank. She obtained her degree in Applied Mathematics & Economics from Harvard and enjoys polo, traveling, and blogging in her spare time.
Dimitar holds a degree in Electrical engineering but quickly moved into software development after graduation. Later as a consultant he became increasingly involved in improving the performance of various applications and hosting platforms. As a consultant, Dimitar has worked for numerous clients and companies in New York City. His previous work in automation of the application development cycle and management of the hosting infrastructure has ideally positioned him for his current role at PlaceIQ. That, and his obsession with big data!
Jerome joins PlaceIQ after spending five years building big data and machine learning solutions for adtech companies such as 24/7 Media, Proclivity Media, and most recently, Maxifier. Originally from France, he graduated from EPITA in Paris with a Master’s degree in computer engineering and a major in artificial intelligence.
Romel joins PlaceIQ as a member of the West Coast Ad Operations team. He began in online advertising in 2006 at Safeway.com and then joined Yahoo!, where he experienced jobs ranging from ad trafficking to account management. Most recently, Romel was a Sr. Campaign Manager at the mobile video ad company Rhythm NewMedia, and received recognition for managing the lowest under delivery and the largest revenue last quarter.
With a background in sales and identifying opportunities for brand advertisers with the mobile and wireless industry, Jim joins PlaceIQ as RVP, sales in Detroit, Michigan, where he supervises the sales team and customer service in that region. Previously, as RVP for Millennial Media, Ryan was responsible for multi-million dollar revenue generation across the company’s top-100 advertiser client base while overseeing the opening of a Detroit office. Prior to that, Jim held customer, media, and partner-facing roles across agencies including Publicis, Starcom Worldwide, J. Walter Thompson, and Carlson Marketing Group. As an advocate of mobile advertising, Ryan was an early adopter of technology as a means to quantify advertising investments.
Susan joins PlaceIQ after spending time at Morgan Stanley as a foreign exchange options trader and more recently at AppNexus on their Optimization team. She graduated from Princeton with a degree in Math in 2012 and enjoys drawing, hiking, and going to Disneyworld in her free time.
Tim comes to PlaceIQ from AT&T AdWorks, where he was the VP of Integrated & Strategic Partnerships, managing very large client side relationships across TV, online, and mobile media. Though based in Atlanta, Tim travels across the East and South, preaching the PlaceIQ gospel, working closely with sales, and improving relationships with clients.
Dianna joins PlaceIQ as an Account Manager, and brings her unique and diverse experience to the role. Her previous experience as an Account Executive at Lifebooker allowed her to manage cross platform sales projects while strengthening relationships with local business owners in New York and the Chicago area. Having come from large display and ad networks such as WebMD and Interclick, she is very excited to start her career in the mobile space here at PlaceIQ. Dianna is originally from Richmond, Virginia and attended James Madison University where she majored in Business Marketing and minored in Asian Studies.
Rose Harari is joining the Place IQ Account Management team, bringing with her 5+ years of experience across the digital ad landscape. Her background includes sales and account management stints in print, display, video, and mobile. In video, Rose worked with agencies and brands like Hershey’s, FedEx and Lowe’s. She most recently worked as an account manager at the mobile ad network, Mojiva, focused on campaign management and optimization. A native New Yorker, Rose graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Communications.
Jake joins PlaceIQ as Account Executive in New York City. Recognizing mobile as a strong area of growth, Jake joined Mojiva Inc. in 2011 and began to establish himself as a key member of a hot start-up in a dynamic industry. There, he orchestrated innovative branding efforts which spanned across custom rich media development, video, cross-screen, and advanced data targeting. Jake has been a strong asset in driving revenue growth from both AM and Sales perspectives, building and maintaining long-term client relationships with Fortune 500 Brands. Jake is excited to bring his passion and mobile know-how to PlaceIQ!
John joins PlaceIQ as a member of the DevOps team with over 15 years of experience in managing UNIX systems. Prior to taking the role at PlaceIQ, John spent time at Proclivity Media helping to upgrade their infrastructure. Before that John worked at NYU Langone Medical Center until Hurricane Sandy. John even owned a restaurant in Jersey City for a couple of years.
John studied Experimental Nuclear Physics and Environmental Engineering in graduate school and Physics and Mathematics for his undergrad.
Dylan Graham is a junior software engineer at PlaceIQ. Before joining PlaceIQ, Dylan worked at Barclays Capital and Citibank. He is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research and a minor in Computer Science. In his spare time, Dylan enjoys cheering on his hometown Phoenix sports teams.
Raghuram is originally from a town called Miryalaguda in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. He graduated from IIT Madras in India with Bachelor and Master of Technology in Computer Science. Most recently, he went to Columbia university, where he received an MA in Mathematics of Finance. Raghuram pursued research in Statistical Machine Learning at Columbia for a while before joining placeIQ, where he was fascinated by the methods used to derive structure in complex datasets. He spend his free time watching cricket, cooking and solving Math/algorithmic/ML puzzles.
David joins PlaceIQ from Mojiva where he was a Sales Director. David was responsible for managing all business out of MediaCom, Mindshare, Maxus, MEC, Joule, OMD, PHD, Mobext, McGarry Bowen, and Morpheus among others. He also oversaw the Mid-Atlantic territory. Prior to Mojiva, David was a Sales Director and managed teams for Specific Media and Glam Media, as well as an Account Executive for Sporting News properties. He has eighteen years of experience as a media seller in the New York market. David grew up in Columbus, OH and attended both Indiana University and Ohio State University. He lives with his wife and three children in Long Beach, NY. He is a huge music fan and has attended nearly 1,000 live shows.
Beth Clos joins PlaceIQ as Strategy Director for the Midwest. Beth helps match clients’ business objectives with PlaceIQ’s diverse capabilities. She most recently led mobile strategy in the Midwest for Omnicom’s strategy group Airwave. Beth understands the digital media agency world inside and out, having planned for a wide gamut of businesses including Walgreens, State Farm, Pier 1, H&R Block, JCPenney, and GM. Beth grew up in the Detroit area and currently resides in Chicago with her husband.
Arunram is a developer with a background in UX and Game design. After having made games for pretty much every platform, he decided to apply those principles to other applications. Arunram has been working in the fashion industry ever since helping move some of the world’s leading artist and modeling agencies from pen and paper to the cloud. Along the way, he has made browser based controls for drones and written a recommendation engine for dating apps. Arunram graduated from NYU Poly’s Brooklyn Experimental Media Center with a Masters in Integrated Digital Media in 2011.
Becky is excited to be joining PlaceIQ. Becky has been working in digital since 1997 when she joined Disney Online as a web producer. Becky made the jump to sales in 2000 and have held positions at CBS Sportsline, Advertising.com, Weatherbug, AdMob and most recently Google.
Monika joins PlaceIQ as a Campaign Manager and brings with her over eight years of experience in operations with leading advertising and technology companies. She began her career at CNET Networks. After that, she joined Yahoo as a Media Delivery Coordinator and later on she was moved into an East Ad Operations Team Lead role where she provided leadership and advisory support for the regional operations and management teams. She was also an Off-shoring and Ad Tech Subject Matter Expert. Monika was a 2007 Elite Performer winning a Rookie of the Half Award. Most recently, Monika was an Optimization Manager at Genome from Yahoo, formerly known as Interclick where she tracked, optimized, and analyzed campaign performance across the Genome Ad Network and Right Media Exchange. She was also responsible for managing and developing client relations in the early stages, from post-sale to campaign setup and identifying areas for upsell and account growth.
Cathy’s 15 year digital media experience began at Yahoo, where she started as an AdOps coordinator, trafficking campaigns and learning the ins and outs of Yahoo’s ad server. She moved up to become a senior member of the West Coast Account Management team. where she managed retail accounts and then focused on key accounts such as Sprint, Walmart, eBay and Experian. She left Yahoo after almost 9 years, to head up and build the AdOps and Account Management teams at Photobucket (owned by Fox Interactive Media at the time). From there, Cathy went on to head up the US AM team at InMobi and, most recently, at YuMe, where she grew the AM team from a team of 8 to almost 30 across the US.
Felipe is joining the creative services team at PlaceIQ from the mobile advertising network Mojiva, where he handled creative and ad operations responsibilities. Felipe was born in Santiago, Chile but raised in the Bay Area where he currently lives. Felipe is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelors of Arts in design studies with an emphasis in graphic design.
Jeff joins PlaceIQ from Mojiva, where was the sales director out of the Detroit Market. Jeff started the office in Detroit, where he established a number of first-time automotive and non-automitve accounts such as Chrysler, Ford, GM, Ally Bank and Kaiser Permanente. Prior to Mojiva, Jeff ran his own independent rep firm, representing a number of digital properties such as Dominion Enterprises, Athlon Sports, and Consorte Media. His background also consists of 10 years with Hachette Filipacchi Media US, where he worked in corporate sales for major brands such as CAR and DRIVER, Road & Track, Cycle World and others. Jeff has 20 years selling experience in Detroit, where he was born and raised. He is married to his wife Lynn and has two children, Nicholas (age 6) and Katie (age 2).
Kat has worked in the digital media space for the past 13 years. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a BA in English and a Minor in Education, she began her 10 year career at Yahoo, Inc. Focused on display advertising, Kat helped manage campaigns as a media coordinator, reviewed contracts as a revenue operations compliance specialist, and managed key content partnerships for Y! Yellow Pages and Y! Local business development teams.
For the past 3 years, Kat worked at the mobile ad network Mojiva, Inc. As an account manager, she worked with agency represented brands such as Best Buy, Toyota, and Proctor and Gamble. She also managed the Direct Response account management team, helping to evolve and streamline the company’s performance campaign efforts. She has recently joined Place IQ’s account management team in the Palo Alto office, and looks forward to sharing and expanding her industry knowledge and expertise.
Margerite is joining PlaceIQ as an Account Manager. She brings her passion and knowledge of the mobile industry to the position. Prior to PlaceIQ, Margerite spent two years at Mojiva, as both an Account Manager and Ad Operation Associate, allowing her a deep understanding of the adverting process. Margerite graduated from Pitzer College in 2011, obtaining her B.A. in Organizational Studies with a minor in Italian. She is excited to be a member of the PlaceIQ team and continue to grow within the mobile technology industry.
Michelle is a Creative Services Specialist at PlaceIQ with an affinity for aesthetics. She received her B.A. in Visual Communication Design and minor in Psychology from University of California, Davis. Passionate about visual communication and human-centered design, she draws on these perspectives to create visually compelling solutions.
Eric joins PlaceIQ as Sales Director covering New England. Eric brings over 19 years of agency and sales experience spanning both digital and traditional media having worked with a number of major brands such as CVS, Liberty Mutual, Dunkin’ Donuts, Converse, Dick’s Sporting Goods and TJ Maxx/Marshalls. Before joining PlaceIQ, he worked at Pandora Radio as a sales executive tasked with growing digital revenue and breaking into broadcast radio budgets for the New England region. He also spent time at AOL, Boston.com and Clear Channel Media. Eric obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA.
Matthew Novick joins the PlaceIQ team as Chief Financial Officer, bringing with him over 10 years of advertising and marketing technology experience.
Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Matt served as CFO of Persado. As the company’s first New York employee, Matt was tasked with moving the entire management of the company to the United States from Europe, where the mobile marketing company was previously located while under the umbrella of Upstream Mobile Marketing. He operationalized the now independent corporation.
Before joining Persado, Matt served as CFO, including a stint as Interim CEO, of Magnetic Media after initially joining the team as vice president of finance and operations in August 2010.
Matt got his advertising start serving in both the finance and sales operations organizations at AOL. While at AOL, Matt held numerous positions where he was charged with everything from analyzing sell-through rates and CPMs to organizing sales expenditures and revenue. Before AOL, Matt worked as a business consultant at IBM in the government projects group.
He spends his spare time as a part-time operations manager for a 101-year-old family furniture business where he works on purchasing, advertising, increasing showroom utilization, and starring in commercials. Matt received his MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and his BA in economics from The George Washington University.
David joins PlaceIQ with a wealth of industry knowledge and a relentless passion for all things digital. As a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in sales and business development, David brings strong leadership and enthusiasm to PlaceIQ. Most recently David was responsible for ushering in mobile at Turn, leading Global Sales across the organization. There he had the opportunity to grow large scale brands across various categories like Home Depot, Verizon, General Motors, Zales, Microsoft and Ebay to name a few. Prior to Turn, David spent 6 years at Google focusing on both Media & Entertainment and Technology verticals with an emphasis on mobile and display. Having the opportunity to work on the Admob platform shortly after Google’s acquisition of the industry leading mobile ad network, David was able to drive mobile adoption and education across the Telecom industry, most notably Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and TMobile. David also sits on the board of advisors at the full service mobile marketing and creative agency, Xtopoly.
Jeff is a veteran of the early-stage analytics space, most recently managing client and data-partner relationships at Collective[i], an analytics platform for sales organizations. As a member of the product team, Jeff acted as the liason between product development, clients, and partners.
Prior to joining Collective[i], Jeff was an early employee at Sense Networks (acquired by YP), where he was responsible for audience and client development. Jeff also founded and built a Twitter analytics tool that analyzed replies to segment audiences and enabled scaled engagement for large media companies. Before joining the startup world, Jeff worked as an equity analyst covering healthcare technology.
Jeff is from New York and graduated Villanova University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Hailing from Washington D.C., Nathan joins PlaceIQ as a Reporting Analyst. Prior to PlaceIQ, Nathan worked for the Regulatory Affairs branch of the FDA in statistics and operations research, and at the Consumer Electronics Association, identifying economic and consumer trends. Nathan holds dual Bachelor degrees in Math & Economics from the University of Maryland. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing basketball and photography.
Priscilla Mui started her advertising career as a media planner and buyer on the agency side. She brings a wealth of client/agency/sales knowledge to PlaceIQ from her 8 years at Zenith Media and GroupM working on Luxury Jewelry/Watches/Fashion and Auto, Pharma, Consumer Electronic, Packaged Goods, Management/Tech Consulting, and Tourism accounts. Priscilla lead and managed proposals, executed and demonstrated ROI of integrated marketing campaigns, and delivered concise and convincing integrated media plan presentations to clients and senior executive management. One of her proudest moments was being a part of the team that led Land Rover to win the 2013 Creative Media Award in New/Emerging Media. Her strong agency, publishing and client relationships then led her to her first sales position as an Account Executive at Mojiva. There she created innovative mobile and tablet advertising campaigns for brand advertisers, as well as maintained and built agency/client relationships. Besides developing her career at PlaceIQ, Priscilla is an avid leisure traveler and foodie, trying to visit as many cities and countries all over the world.
Olga brings years of brand management and marketing experience to PlaceIQ. Most recently, she founded and led Brand Bridge Group, a brand strategy consulting firm, where she developed brand identity and marketing strategy for a wide range of clients, including several startups.
Previously, Olga worked at Church & Dwight and was instrumental in the re-branding, campaign development, and management of digital strategies for the Arm & Hammer toothpaste business. Prior to Church & Dwight, she spearheaded the creative and strategic development of new products for the Marlboro brand at Philip Morris, most notably launching Marlboro Craft Blends and Marlboro Snus.
Olga received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, also spending a year abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and an MBA from the University of Richmond.
Henry is joining PlaceIQ as a Campaign Manager in the NYC office. Prior to that, he performed Mobile Ad Ops duties at Mojiva. Henry has a background in SEO and digital marketing, having managed both technical and content-driven projects for a variety of employers and clients, including financial publishers, DWH and SaaS consultants, and PANYNJ’s WTC Construction Logistics office. Interests include web design / coding, writing, reading, hiking, taking random classes, and everything having to do with coffee.
Gregory joins the PlaceIQ team from Google, where he was a System Administrator. Before joining Google he was a System Administrator at TxVia, supporting the QA and development teams as well as the infrastructure, in addition to four years at Apple. He has years of experience as a Systems Administrator. Gregory is a native New Yorker, an avid snowboarder and gamer. Additionally, he attended Stony Brook University with a major in Psychology.
Julie is the HR Generalist at PlaceIQ. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Julie interned at Tanner Medical Center in the HR Department. Julie received her BBA from the University of Georgia in 2013 with a Degree in Finance. She is excited to start her career at PlaceIQ.
Indu has eight years of experience in developing and managing B2C customer acquisition, billing, and content for mobile and web based entertainment in U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Middle East. This experience comes with hands on knowledge of VAS platform implementation for major carriers globally such as ATT, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Claro, Oi, Vivo, Telefonica, Vodafone, Bouygues, and Orange, to name a few. She has personally overseen the development, launch, and post-production maintenance of innovative mobile services in challenging new markets with varied acquisition and advertising needs, working closely with designers, engineers, marketers, analysts, and third-party clientele. She has a M.S. in Digital Imaging and Design from New York University, and B.S. majoring in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
Ivan is a Data Scientist at PlaceIQ. Before joining PlaceIQ, Ivan received a PhD in physics from Columbia University. After graduating, Ivan held postdoctoral appointments at Jacobs University and Stockholm University where he did research on high energy astrophysical phenomena. Ivan is keen on applying his scientific and analytical background to find solutions to non-academic interesting and difficult problems.
Nikhil comes to PlaceIQ after working at an analytics consulting firm where he used statistical and quantitative techniques to provide marketing insights for pharmaceutical clients. Nikhil is very excited to join the data science team in helping improve PlaceIQ’s products and services. Nikhil received his Masters in Operations Research from Cornell University and a B.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University.
Wojtek is excited to join PlaceIQ as a product manager. Before PlaceIQ, Wojtek worked at Google on the AdSense and DoubleClick teams. His experience includes building content detection systems, integrating companies into Google, and devising international operations strategies. He also worked with the small business ads product team at Twitter. After a two year break for an MBA, Wojtek is ready to create great solutions for PlaceIQ’s clients. Wojtek was born in Poland, grew up in Chicago, loves to ski…and eat.
Jeff joins PlaceIQ as a Junior Software Engineer. Jeff comes to PlaceIQ from Siege Technologies where he worked on various cyber security research projects. He has a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire and is attending Columbia for an M.S. in Computer Science. In his spare time Jeff enjoys reading Science Fiction, binge watching TV shows on Netflix and pondering the Axiom of Choice.
Helene joins PlaceIQ as an Associate Marketing Manager. Prior to joining the team she managed media & communications for ThinkEco, a Manhattan-based clean technology startup. Helene hails from Houston, but graduated from Indiana University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and was a member of the varsity track and cross country teams.
Alok joins PlaceIQ as a Senior Innovation Engineer bringing with him experiences in both the corporate and startup worlds with a deep interest in public APIs and datasets. Prior to PlaceIQ, Alok worked as a Development Manger at Ampush where he split his time building software tools to facilitate ad creation / optimization using the Facebook Ads API and managing a distributed team of engineers in New York and Argentina. He also worked for several years at Goldman Sachs under Controllers Technology enhancing real-time processing applications within the GS proprietary books and records reconciliation framework. In his spare time, Alok enjoys learning to play guitar and trying out new concoctions in his recently bought Vitamix.
Vanessa is excited about joining placeIQ as a Reporting Analyst. Prior to PlaceIQ, she spent 3 years working at Procter & Gamble, where she consulted on IT processes to 4 of Latin America’s top customers, delivered business intelligence solutions and conducted business analysis to the Latin America sales organization. Vanessa holds a bachelor in Telecommunications Engineering, and just finished a Master of International Business at Hult IBS, in Boston.
Darryl Lewis has received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU-Polytechnic School of Engineering. Previously worked on an internship with a CenturyLink ( Third largest Telecommunications company in US) as Network Operations Engineer. Worked on configurations with routers in the distribution layer of service provider network. Intend to specialize in network and system engineering.
Chris joins PlaceIQ as Director, Human Resources bringing with him over 15 years of experience in the HR field. Chris is a dynamic and strategic human resources executive with a strong business acumen and broad range of experience in multiple HR disciplines; including employee relations, compensation management, HR strategy, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, organizational development, HR technology and systems, payroll and employee benefit design. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Chris was the Director, Human Resources for Kinetic Worldwide, a WPP company. At Kinetic, Chris was instrumental in rebuilding the HR Department where he implemented training initiatives for the organization, established policies and procedures and helped improve overall employee satisfaction. Prior to Kinetic, Chris was the Global HR Manager for 24/7 Real Media, a WPP company, where he held a similar role.
Rich joins PlaceIQ as a Recruiter with over 5 years of experience of In-house and Agency Recruiting. Prior to joining PlaceIQ , Rich was Recruiting for Yodle, Inc, with a focus on Product & Marketing roles. Pervious to that he was an Account Executive for the New York Islanders of the NHL. Rich holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Endicott College. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing many different sports.
Jae joins PlaceIQ after spending over 10 years at a service provider specializing in network infrastructure. During his time consulting he helped countless clients build highly resilient and cutting edge enterprise networks. Now he feels motivated to build and maintain his own infrastructure at PlaceIQ. Jae is always in pursuit of perfection in an imperfect world of IT.
Ed is a strategic marketing executive with substantial experience in digital media, networked communications, and infrastructure computing. Prior to joining PlaceIQ to oversee Marketing, Ed was SVP of Marketing at YuMe where he helped grow revenue and the marketing team nearly an order of magnitude over 3+ years and a successful IPO. Before that he was co-founder & VP Marketing of Ludic Labs (Groupon), which developed both the social media community Diddit.com and local commerce service OfferFoundry.com. Prior to Ludic Labs, he served as the founding marketing executive for several other venture-backed technology companies including Orbital Data (Citrix), Composite Software (Cisco), and Inktomi Corporation (Yahoo!). Ed holds a B.S. in Structural Engineering, an M.S. in Systems Engineering and ABD in Operations Research from Purdue University.
Alex joins the PlaceIQ team from PubMatic where he was a Systems Administrator. Before joining PubMatic, he was a HelpDesk Analyst at Mocean Mobile (formerly Mojiva) supporting users and working on the Mocean infrastructure. Alex is from Connecticut and attended school at Manchester Community College where he majored in Network Technology. He is excited to be a member of the PlaceIQ team and to continue to grow as a technology professional.
Ricky Bhardwaj joins the PlaceIQ team as a Senior Program Manager, bringing with him over 15 years of IT experience, specializing in project/program/portfolio management. He started off his career with General Electric and then moved on to increasingly more responsible roles at UBS, Christies, AIG, McGraw-Hill, Verisk Analytics and most recently Warner (to name a few). With extensive experience in implementing management techniques across different verticals and varying sizes of companies, Ricky will be assisting in establishing process improvements at PlaceIQ. He is extremely excited and enthusiastic about joining the PlaceIQ team and helping grow and shape the organization.
Jessica joins PlaceIQ after obtaining her PhD in Sociology at Princeton University. She is trained as a mixed-methods researcher, with experience in both quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques. She has worked as a research associate for cross-national survey studies as well as an interning consultant for ReD Associates, an innovation and strategy consultancy. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, dining out and ambling around unexplored parts of the city.
Keith comes from Southern California but has been a true New Yorker for most of his life. After graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, he was recruited by a big agency and began his career in NYC. Keith brings years of experience in branding, advertising, and digital design. This includes consumer packaged goods work at agencies where he created campaigns for a diverse roster of clients like AT&T, Coca Cola, Kraft General Foods, USPS, KFC, Cover Girl Cosmetics, and more. He also spent several years as a Creative Director at a B2B shop where he helped launch internet startups and industrial marketplaces for eSteel, Quoteship, and Interpath Communications. Recently Keith has been partner and Executive CD of his own branding firm, POOL INC where clients sought out his strategic branding and design skills – most notably for Halstead Property where he and his team created a new platform, positioning, and an updated visual and verbal voice for the brand. Other clients have included Udi’s Gluten Free Foods, Alba Botanica natural personal care, Vornado Realty Trust, Burt’s Bees, and several not-for-profits. Keith is married to Jayne Whitmer, has a teenage daughter, Olivia, and a dog named Trixie.
Ben is excited to be joining PlaceIQ and the Partner Development Team. For the past eight years, I worked on the Atlas product, where I had various roles at aQuantive, Microsoft and Facebook. Most recently, I was a Partner Manager, where I focused on integrating the leading Rich Media and Video vendors into the Atlas platform. Prior to my time in partner development, I was in account management for both Atlas Rich Media and the core ad serving product. Ben is originally from the Bay Area and graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Southern California. I have lived in NYC for the past seven years and enjoy the City with my wife and French Bulldog, Ernie.
Antony heads up product at PlaceIQ. For the past 18 years, Antony has been focused on making data actionable, first as an enterprise IT consultant, and then as an ad technology product leader. His previous roles include heading up digital ad product platforms at both startups and large companies alike. At Yahoo!, he ran Smart Ads, the leading data-driven dynamic creative product. He went on to co-found an enterprise data startup that focused on data onboarding and management. At AT&T AdWorks, he led product for cross-channel digital ad platforms. And most recently, he ran product for a video personalization platform startup. Antony graduated with his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan with emphases in strategy and finance.
Nick began his career on the agency side where he learned the ins and outs of media planning at Beyond Interactive, working specifically on the GSK account for 2+ years. He then spent a brief time at Veoh as an Account Manager, which was the beginning of his experience in the digital video space. For the last 5 years, Nick spent his time at YuMe where he started as the only Account Manager working on strategic accounts such as AT&T, Verizon, Marriott, and Nestle. With his strong technical skills and leadership abilities, Nick was promoted to a management position and was responsible for building, training, and managing the client service team in New York. Being the sixth member in the New York office, Nick played an integral role in shaping YuMe’s client service department and feels fortunate to have been a part of a small start-up and witnessing its successful IPO. During his personal time, Nick enjoys snowboarding, playing guitar, and traveling. He is also recently engaged and looks forward to wedding planning. Nick is very excited to join the PlaceIQ family and help elevate the client service team and the company to new heights.
