Duncan McCall
CEO & Co-Founder
Duncan has a passion and background in the “location” space spanning many years. From time spent in RFID and universal positioning startups, to founding and leading a venture-backed consumer Internet business with the goal of enabling and empowering users of location-aware devices. Much of this experience has led to the vision behind PlaceIQ. Duncan’s experience in early stage businesses goes beyond this market, having led the operational and system build of a successful retail organization, growing it to a multi-location, multi-state enterprise. He also built and led IS Solutions INC, a premier Silicon Valley based System Integrator. Outside of the startup environment, Duncan has also made an impact for one of the world’s largest organizations in working for ExxonMobil in the UK and Asia.
Steve Milton
CTO & Co-Founder
Steve has a proven track record of incubating new technology companies and leading them through successful growth. His background in enterprise, Internet, large data analytics and geospatial information systems led to the technical vision for PlaceIQ. He has developed novel software solutions in several industries and worked with a great variety of “Big Data”. In the early 90′s Steve was one of the first 20 employees at Trilogy. In the late 90’s Steve helped architect a Web 1.0 content portal and purchasing transaction system. Later he was a founding member of living.com and built a highly acclaimed consumer retail site. After the Internet boom, Steve immersed himself in Big Data. He joined the management team at Nuance where he helped scale the development and deployment of voice recognition systems. Next, he helped a bioinformatics startup build its core data capture and data analysis platform. After that, he incubated a startup in the insurance claims processing and appraisal space. And most recently he led software and systems development at Digital Globe — owner of the world’s largest earth imagery database.
Tony Nethercutt
Chief Revenue Officer
Tony’s experience and achievements in the ad tech field are proven. His sales and operations successes at DoubleClick and Yahoo were recognized by Sequoia Capital, who tapped him to build the revenue models and sales teams at both YouTube and AdMob. Most recently Tony was General Manager, North America, at mobile advertising company Mojiva. There he was an integral driver of both Mojiva, the mobile ad network, and Mocean Mobile, the ad serving platform. Tony holds the distinction of being the only four-time Platinum Sales Award MVP at Yahoo, and has been a key catalyst in several successful acquisitions throughout his illustrious career.
Anna Nguyen
Chief Operating Officer

Having come from Internet giants such as Yahoo!, YouTube and Google, Anna arms the company with a tremendous amount of industry experience and success. She was an initial member of the Operations team at Align Technology where she helped lead the company through a successful IPO. From there she worked in the Sales Operations team as an Advertising Account Rep for Yahoo! where she also drove special projects to improve process and adserving efficiencies. She then went to YouTube as the founding member of YouTube’s Operations team building out the Ad Ops, Technical Production, DSM Administration, and Ad Technology teams. After Anna took YouTube through a successful acquisition by Google, she rolled out monetization to NASO, EMEA, and LATAM before settling in as Head Of Media Operations for YouTube, Orkut and the Google Content Network for JAPAC. Before joining PlaceIQ, Anna was SVP Global Operations for Mocean Mobile and Mojiva.com, where she ran Client Services for the Brand Sales & Direct Response teams, Ad Ops, Technical Account Management and Publisher Operations.
Kevin Brackney
Data Architect

The road to PlaceIQ for Kevin has been long and varied, and has primed him for the unique challenges ahead. Having dealt with big data since the start of his career, Kevin worked with large telecommunications providers throughout the world to architect and implement large-scale billing and customer care systems. From there, Kevin moved into the unique realm of Internet startups serving many roles from architecture to operations for Requisite Technology, Local Matters, and most recently PublicEarth. Kevin brings a unique blend of technical and business talent to PlaceIQ. He has a proven track record of laying the foundation from which to grow the operational framework of PlaceIQ. Kevin is a graduate of Northern Arizona University holding dual Bachelor’s degrees in Accountancy and Computer Information Systems.
Alexandra Dango
QA and Product Release

Alexandra brings a wide range of experience in content development, market research and affiliate marketing to PlaceIQ. Prior to coming to PlaceIQ, Alexandra was involved in various entrepreneurial environments including PublicEarth, where she managed international research and content development. She has also utilized her organizational and research skills to perform international market analyses in affiliate marketing, study market segmentation in the automobile industry and conduct data analysis. Alexandra possesses a flair for creativity and a passion for knowledge, which define her role at PlaceIQ. Alexandra is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
Stuart Sim
SVP Technology & Engineering
Stuart is a seasoned technology leader and architect of disruptive change powered by lean software engineering and data science. Stuart is an expert in Big Data, Machine Learning and Distributed Processing Frameworks. He has a strong passion for the combined application of science and engineering to construct massive systems for the discovery of hidden insights in structured and un-structured data. Stuart was previously with a few startups as VP of Engineering, including Unified Social and Opera Solutions where he built and managed teams of developers and data scientists working on mining the social web. Stuart spun off his own software development company from Sun Microsystems after 8 years where he developed a solutions and professional services practice for the Global Financial Group. Stuart designed and built platforms for market, credit and liquidity risk using grid-based open systems. Before Sun Microsystems, Stuart built several large market and credit risk systems for Deutsche Bank in London and New York while working as a systems architecture lead for the risk technology group. At Deutsche, Stuart also developed the Basel II solution for the banks global compliance group. Stuart grew up in Hong Kong, Korea and Japan and has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in Robotics from Bristol University in the UK.
Niladri Batabyal
VP of Engineering
Niladri is the glue that holds the business and technology/data components of PlaceIQ together. Responsible for building the complete internal and customer facing software stacks, his charter produces an endless number of exciting problems spanning big data analytics, high throughput/low latency algorithms and geo-spatial visualizations. Before joining the team, Niladri was a Core Strategist in the New York and London offices of Goldman Sachs. The Core group developed and maintained the firm’s central trading and risk management system, SecDB, which has been widely regarded as a major technological breakthrough and substantial competitive edge for the business over the last several decades. In addition to the complex, quantitatively rigorous applications he worked on in the financial services industry, he brings substantial experience developing and releasing commercial software to hundreds of millions of people worldwide. During his time at Microsoft in the Windows Live and SQL Server groups, he lead multiple product releases from inception through deployment. Though the blue chip pedigree has proven to be a huge asset, Niladri seems to have come full circle in his career. He started at a very small company focusing on business activity monitoring while completing his BS/MS in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Florida. With a focus on databases and artificial intelligence (specifically expert systems/machine learning), his early academic focus and passion for being a venerable jack of all trades while working at a startup have found the perfect home at PlaceIQ.
Jonathan Lenaghan
Head of Data Science

Jonathan Lenaghan is head of our data science team, working to make sense of the deluge of geospatial data that is becoming available. After receiving his PhD in physics at Yale University, Jonathan worked as a researcher studying phase transitions in the very early universe. His academic work focused on developing theoretical and computational tools to understand the statistical properties of very hot, strongly interacting matter. After leaving academia, Jonathan worked in scientific publishing as an assistant editor for the Physical Review, a leading physics journal. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Jonathan spent several years in the quantitative trading industry where he applied large-scale optimization and machine learning techniques to tick-level equity pricing data and developed several real-time trading algorithms and analytics platforms. Jonathan brings a wide-rage of computational and mathematical skills to PlaceIQ as well as a passion for machine learning, visualization and building large data analysis pipelines.
Michael Imbruce
Director of Infrastructure

Since beginning his career in the early web 1.0 days, Michael has witnessed the rapid evolution of technology first hand though multiple business cycles. During the nearly two decades prior to his joining PlaceIQ, Michael developed a diverse skillset while serving in key strategic, architectural, and operational roles within five successful technology startups, as well as IT governance auditing at JPMorganChase, and systems auditing at Merrill Lynch. Michael’s cross-domain technical expertise encompasses network, system, cloud, storage, and datacenter technologies. In successive leadership roles within fast growth companies, he matched business challenges with scalable technical solutions. With a background in consulting, research, and product development, Michael brings a wealth of valuable experience and insight to his role at PlaceIQ.
Drew Breunig
Senior Director of Strategy
Drew Breunig joins PlaceIQ after spending the better part of a decade crafting brand and media strategies for advertising agencies and their clients, including HP, Glaxo Smith Klein, EA, and Boost Mobile. Most recently, Drew used this advertising expertise and his computer science background to design and implement marketing intelligence applications for Omnicom Media Group’s data and analytics organization, Annalect. There he worked to transmute location, social, media, and audience data into forms beneficial to media planners and marketers. With a degree in cultural anthropology, Drew is uniquely positioned to understand how big data can create and identify valuable audiences for the advertising and media industry.
Manik Khanna
Senior Director of Business Development and Monetization

Manik brings a wealth of mobile advertising DNA to PlaceIQ. Most recently he was Director of Monetization at Amobee (acquired by SingTel in 2012), where he built the publisher business from the ground up, helping premium publishers like Accuweather, Sprint and Boost Mobile exponentially grow their mobile revenue using mediation, exchange and adserving technologies. While at Amobee, Manik built a global advertising and business operations team that managed advertising platforms catering to 1.2Bn mobile subscribers through Amobee’s global operator business. Prior to Amobee, Manik was part of AdMob’s marketing team and helped Quasar Media (acquired by WPP in 2007), an interactive agency in New Delhi to build their mobile advertising unit. Manik graduated with a bachelor’s degree from University of Southern California in electrical engineering and wireless technology. He enjoys traveling and is looking forward to finding some time to go back to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Brian Carroll
Strategy & Financial Operations

Brian heads PlaceIQ’s strategy and financial operations. Brian has worked in the Internet industry 15+ years, via a variety of finance, ad operations, sales, and technical roles at digital media and internet infrastructure companies such as Nielsen Online, Akamai Technologies, and Flavorpill Productions. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a BA from Claremont McKenna College.
Dan Silver
Director of Marketing

Dan brings a wealth of marketing experience to the PlaceIQ team, both in traditional and new media. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Lehigh University’s college of business and economics, Dan began his career as a copywriter at McCann Erickson. Dan later co-founded and ran marketing for one of the first sports social networking sites, RootZoo.com. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Dan managed marketing efforts for one of the leading DSP’s, DataXu, heading lead generation for their Mobile, Display, Video and Social products. Prior to that, Dan ran marketing for rich media startup, Spongecell, helping them become the 27th fastest growing company in America according to Inc. 500, in 2011, and leading to a $10 Million Series B venture backing lead by Safeguard Scientifics, in 2012.
Rob Sprungman
Sales Director

Rob Sprungman has been innovating and developing digital strategy for more than 15 years. As an early digital adopter, he helped develop sales for publishers like Morningstar.com and Weather.com. Afterwards, Rob opened the Midwest Sales offices for Electronic Arts, delivering strategic initiatives for brands like McDonald’s, Ford, Target, and many more. Rob then went on to blaze the Midwest territory for AdMob in 2007, where he established himself as a leader in the fast growing mobile industry and a key member in building partnerships with Fortune 100 brands. Following the AdMob acquisition by Google, Rob led the Google mobile practice for the Americas in the automotive vertical. Rob’s passion is to help brands best deliver their digital strategy in mobile, and today he is developing key new boundaries in that channel with PlaceIQ.
Eric Delange
Director of Sales, East

Eric DeLange is a nine-year veteran of the digital sales landscape. He cut his teeth in sales and account management at Yahoo!, with a focus on helping retail advertisers like WalMart and Lowe’s accomplish their online branding goals. At the mobile ad network, AdMob, Eric worked cross vertical as a sales executive, helping grow account revenue over 500% in less than two years. Following its acquisition by Google, Eric served as lead account executive helping TV and Theatrical advertisers execute successful mobile branding and performance campaigns. Eric became Head of Mobile Brand Solutions for North America at Google, where he helped manage and grow mobile revenue for the US and Canada. He focused on crafting, communicating and implementing go-to market strategies for mobile search and display products as well as leading the account management team for mobile display. As one of only five Gold Award winners in 2012, Eric’s achievements in sales leadership and management were recognized broadly at Google.
Therran Oliphant
Channel Sales Manager

Therran Oliphant took the circuitous route to the ad tech industry through varied experience in myriad sales, product and marketing roles for companies in the automotive industry. This has included roles at Manheim Auctions, and automotive web development group Izmocars. These opportunities have afforded Therran the benefit of being able to strategically develop, market and sell products and services in the B2B marketplace. Most recently, while at Polk, Therran was instrumental in developing products that allowed the company to proliferate its data throughout the advertising technology ecosystem, by strategically designing data products; creating partnerships in the industry and developing business opportunities with new clients. Through these wide ranging experiences, he has had to assess the affect data has on business intelligence, product development, and advertising optimization. Therran holds a B.S. in Marketing and Advertising Promotions, from Northern Arizona University, and an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Eastern Michigan University.
Matt Doherty
Sales Manager

Matt has spent the last seven years as a mobile evangelist at a variety of agencies. Most recently, Matt served as Director of Shopper Marketing and Mobile for FRWD where he oversaw some of the first, and most successful PlaceIQ campaigns. In addition to overseeing all mobile and “localized” digital media, Matt had been focused on helping clients such as General Mills and 3M craft their holistic approach to mobile marketing, with a particular focus on Shopper Marketing. Prior to the FRWD acquisition of BrandinHand, where Matt served as Mobile Director for P&G’s exclusive Mobile Agency of Record, he managed the mobile strategy, planning, buying and execution for more than 20 marquee P&G brands such as COVERGIRL, Pantene, Olay, Gillette, Pampers and Tide. Matt specializes in helping brands navigate the treacherous waters of mobile and leverage localized media to solve business problems — making PlaceIQ a perfect fit.
Danton Tsang
Senior Manager, Client Services

Danton joins PlaceIQ as the Senior Manager of Client Services. He began his career at Google after graduating with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Social Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Danton brings a wealth of account services experience and a passion for mobile display advertising from his various roles at Google, YouTube, and AdMob. While working full-time, he obtained his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Danton is dedicated to understanding the business needs of PlaceIQ’s key clients and ensuring the development, implementation, and success of advertising solutions necessary to satisfy their marketing objectives.
Rex Farrand
Senior Account Manager

Rex has a passion for digital marketing and brings a uniquely diverse background of experience to the PlaceIQ team. Strategically crafting digital advertising strategies across online video, social, mobile, display, and search for Fortune 500 brands in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, he strengthened client relationships to help grow revenue 122% YOY while at Google. His positive impact extended to those around him as he was accepted into Google’s highly competitive leadership program as well as appointed a new hire trainer for two years. Prior, Rex worked on the Equities Client Relationship Management team at Goldman Sachs, as well as earned his Masters in Education and taught 8th grade science in East New York, Brooklyn. He received his Bachelor’s in Biology and Classics from the University of Southern California.
Joseph Ranzenbach
Senior Manager, Partnerships

Joe Ranzenbach manages PlaceIQ’s inventory, channel, and strategic partnerships, ensuring that quality relationships are secured and revenue is optimized. Since joining the PlaceIQ team as employee number five, Joe has worn a variety of hats in executing both internal and external facing projects for groups ranging from product to finance, and from marketing to account management and ad operations. Previously, Joe was a founding employee at private market financial research company PrivCo.com, where he served as VP Operations. At PrivCo, he managed business operations, research and data, sales, and product. Joe’s research has been featured in VentureBeat, Fortune, and Reuters and has appeared on Bloomberg Television’s Bloomberg West. Joe is a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Sandeep Biswas
Sr. Ad Operations Specialist

Sandeep Biswas joins PlaceIQ after 6 years at Google, where he worked on monetizing YouTube by launching new and custom ad products. He worked with various Product and Engineering teams to launch first-of-its-kind ads such as the InVideo and Masthead, which were later adopted by the IAB and, now, almost by all publishers venturing into new rich media ad types. After launching these products, he focussed on supporting both Sales and AdOps teams, providing custom technical solutions for the former, and training and providing technical support for the latter, globally. When YouTube’s focus moved toward commercialization, he worked on launching support for Remarketing, Live Stream ads, VAST and Leanback (non-desktop ads) before finally turning his focus on mobile ads, especially with both YouTube’s and AdMob’s platform migration from DFP5 to XFP. Prior to Google, Sandeep comes from a world of rich media ads from his two years at Knight Ridder Digital and advertising theory and practice from his Master’s degree at San Jose State.
Kyle Scollin
Creative Services Manager

Kyle joins PlaceIQ as the Creative Services Manager. A graphic designer with over 3 years of mobile advertising experience, Kyle brings a wealth of design knowledge to the table, continuously pushing the creative limits. Kyle graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Visual Design as well as extensive computer science skills. His unique skill set was first utilized at AdMob where he was one of only two designers on the sales team. After getting acquired by Google, he helped develop and train the creative team as it grew into a team of 8. Years of experience helping numerous Fortune 500 companies build mobile experiences has given him a strong understanding of how to market brands in an always changing industry.
Christina Lee
Creative Services Specialist

Christina is a creative specialist who has a sharp eye for design that is clean and simple yet effective and attractive. Prior to PlaceIQ, she has gained experience as a graphic designer working with the American Red Cross, Jeely and Bleiler, and Mcmim Design Studio. Having to work with various types of clients, Christina can quickly grasp the brand identity and is able to produce consistent designs. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech.
Natalie Avon
Marketing Manager

Natalie brings a wide range of experience in market research, marketing analytics, and content creation and management to PlaceIQ. A marketing manager with years of experience in the business-to-business industrial marketplace, Natalie is passionate about leading teams to solve problems and reach their goals. While working full-time, she obtained her MBA from the Kelley School of Business after years as a news reporter, writing for publications such as CNN.com, Popular Science magazine, and MVP Publications of London. She received her Bachelor’s in Journalism from Indiana University and was extremely involved at the school’s daily newspaper, eventually becoming the Editor-in-Chief.

Young joins PlaceIQ as an Account Manager, dedicated to partnering with brands to meet marketing objectives. Young has a passion for mobile, having vast knowledge of the space through his experiences in ad operations and strategic account management at AdMob and Google. Young is a graduate of University of California Berkeley with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Economics.
Juan Huerta
Senior Data Scientist

Juan is a Senior Data Scientist at PlaceIQ. Before joining PlaceIQ, Juan was VP of Advanced Analytics at CitiBank in NY where he focused on developing advanced statistical and machine learning decision management models. Prior to Citibank, Juan spent 12 years as Research Scientist at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights NY where he focused on creating novel algorithms for automatic speech recognition and statistical machine translation. Juan has a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, and M.S. from Boston University.
Rachit Srivastava
Data Scientist

Rachit Srivastava is a Data Scientist at PlaceIQ where he is using machine learning and signal processing to explore large location based data sets. Prior to PlaceIQ, Rachit spent several years in the financial industry applying quantitative and statistical methods to commodities trading. He also has worked in structured credit trading where he used machine learning to extract trading signals. He holds a MS in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honors Class I) from the University of New South Wales.
Mary Burford
Product Analyst

Mary Burford joins PlaceIQ after years in the data marketplace. She blows in from Chicago where she specialized in web search functionality and interface design at McMaster-Carr, a leading industrial supplier. She was tasked with enriching a controlled vocabulary describing more than 700,000 products, producing search logic strategies and synthesizing data into icon-driven, link-clustered landing pages. Mary’s known for blending perspectives and data sources in order to effectively map navigation habits, architect search paradigms, and create elegant end user experiences. But Mary’s more than an information analyst. She also brings with her a strong editorial background and internet advertising startup experience, having generated taxonomy for an academic EBSCOhost database, Alternative Press Index, and contributed to an SEM tool by info.com, Zenya. Mary attended Smith College and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies with emphasis in sociological phenomena of the Caribbean.
Khoa Pham
Product & Data Analyst

Khoa is a Product and Data analyst at PlaceIQ responsible for designing taxonomies and rule sets for the research and evaluation of large geospatial datasets. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Khoa worked as an Associate in Data & Research at PrivCo.com with key responsibilities in large financial datasets and financial valuation models. Before PrivCo.com, Khoa worked in the Credit Risk Division at M&T Bank building loss models for their indirect consumer credit risk segment. His past research and experiences also include VHE Gamma Ray Astronomy (University of Utah), Patent and Intellectual Property (Kalow & Springut, LLP), and unsupervised machine learning on incomplete datasets (Columbia University). Khoa is a graduate of Columbia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics.
Roman Shraga
Audience Analyst

Roman comes to PlaceIQ after previously being Program Manager at Bing, where he focused on ranking and classification for image and video search. Roman’s vast skillset includes machine learning, data analysis, and product management, gained from experiences at Microsoft, Anyclip, and Brown University. Roman is passionate about finding meaning in data, as well as, product quality and is dedicated to maintaining a standard of excellence in PlaceIQ’s various audience-targeting products.
Katherine Chung
Ad Operations Specialist

Katherine Chung is an Ad Operations Specialist at PlaceIQ. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Katherine worked as a Technology Analyst in a trading desk support group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She has also held internships at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Raytheon. Katherine is a graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering and a certificate in Engineering Management Systems.
Asha Saluja
Business Analyst

Asha is on the finance team at PlaceIQ, dividing her time between financial planning, accounting, recruiting, and business operations. She joins PlaceIQ from Flavorpill Media, where she helped run finance and manage a variety of other business activities. Asha got her B.A. at New York University, where she majored in economics, minored in communications, and studied abroad in Prague.
Parker Winchester

Parker Winchester is a software engineer at PlaceIQ. Before joining PlaceIQ, Parker has interned at Barclays Capital and NASA Ames Research Center. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Chemical Engineering.
Ranqi Zhu
Software Engineer

Ranqi is a software engineer at PlaceIQ. He has an inter-discipline background in Physics, Robotics and Computer science. Prior to PlaceIQ, he worked as associate researcher at CMU, focusing on solving computer vision problems for robotic manipulation tasks. He has more of a passion for mobile computing and big data than building terminators, though. He also loves to freeze the ephemerals using his camera, which is a iPhone. Like everyone else, he has a shirt which says “I love New York.”
Brian Stoller
Senior Director of Strategy

Brian joins PlaceIQ from Mindshare, where he lead development of the media agency’s digital strategy for clients across North America. He was also the head of Mindshare digital for Asia Pacific from 2008 to 2010. Prior to re-joining Mindshare in 2008, Brian spent two years as the VP of Marketing at mobile advertising agency Third Screen Media in New York. Brian has worked and studied in Asia for over 7 years and has a decade of experience working on New York’s Madison Avenue and in Beijing with Ogilvy, McCann-Erickson, and Mindshare. Brian speaks Mandarin Chinese and holds a BA in Advertising and Marketing.

Jenna O’Connell
Ad Operations Specialist

Jenna is joining Place IQ as an Ad Operations Specialist. She received a BS in Mathematical Sciences from Loyola College in Maryland. After a brief stint as a high school Math teacher, Jenna decided she wanted to get into the growing mobile technology industry. Liliang Li
Frontend Developer
Liliang Li is a software engineer from Shanghai. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in computing science from Griffith College of Dublin, Ireland in 2006 and in 2010 he graduated from New York University’s Polytechnic Institute with a master of science degree in computer science. Before joining the PlaceIQ team he previously worked at SecondMarket as a software engineer from 2010 to 2013, where his main responsibilities included helping the company building their social platforms for investors and issuers of the secondary markets to connect, engage and ultimately do transactions. He has experience working in an agile environment and with continuous integration and deployment.
Ed Walker
Engineering Intern
Ed is a sophomore at Princeton studying operations research and financial engineering. He has 5 years of coding experience, including 4 in Java. He is a member of the lightweight varsity crew team and enjoys running and swimming in his spare time.
Mark Vessalico
Engineering Intern
Mark is thrilled to join the PlaceIQ team as a software engineering intern. He is currently a rising junior in the School of Engeineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Originally from Long Island, Mark developed an interest in computer programming his senior year of high school, and he couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to work with the talented team at PlaceIQ.
Aziz Ali
Finance Intern
Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Aziz held positions at Invesco and Navigation Investments, both in financial support roles. He recently earned his bachelor’s degree from New York University where he majored in economics and minored in business studies. He hails from Houston and was the captain of the NYU Cross-Examination Debate Team.
Evan Nazareth
Sales and Marketing Intern
Evan is currently a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania working towards a degree in biology and is excited to be joining PlaceIQ this summer as a Sales and Marketing Intern. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Evan worked in the advertising and marketing departments of his school’s student-run newspaper, The Daily Pennsylvanian, and completed a number of research-focused internships. He looks forward to working with everyone at PlaceIQ over the next few months and to further developing his knowledge of sales and marketing!
Bruce Forester
Sales Director, East
Bruce joins PlaceIQ as sales director, overseeing east coast accounts. Bruce brings 10+ experience in digital media, developing solutions for major brand advertisers across various platforms, including mobile, online video, display, and advanced/interactive TV. Prior to PlaceIQ, Bruce oversaw east coast sales for SoundHound, a leading music discovery platform for mobile devices. Before SoundHound, Bruce ran lifestyle category development for HealthiNation, a leading health video provider for on-demand platforms.
Rohan Aletty
Jr. Software Engineer
Rohan is a software engineer who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2013. He is originally from central New Jersey near the Princeton area. He is a sports aficionado who loves to follow as well as play basketball, tennis, and football. In his spare time, he enjoys reading (Game of Thrones!), video games, and good movies.
Barbara Mucha
Software Engineer
Barbara graduated from Stony Brook University with an M.S. in Computer Science in 2007. She has Worked at a variety of different companies, including Starwood Hotels and Goldman Sachs. Originally from Poland, Barbara came to the U.S. when she was 10 years old. She loves to play volleyball and read interesting books.
Amol Kapila
Data Scientist
Amol Kapila is a Data Scientist at PlaceIQ, where he applies machine learning techniques to better understand large data sets. Before joining PlaceIQ, Amol worked on PayPal’s Data Science team, helping to extract value from PayPal’s treasure trove of user information. Amol has an M.S. in statistics from the University of Washington and an Sc.B. in mathematics from Brown University.
