PlaceIQ extracts context and meaning from location data and organizes this into actionable intelligence about a hyper local location.

PlaceIQ is able to take large amounts of often unstructured, unrelated, location based data such as photos, place data, event data, digital and social data (and much, much more) and – through a series of processes of data cleansing, normalization, analysis, and machine learning – extract patterns, trends, intelligence and context from the data.

PlaceIQ then breaks the world up into 100M ‘tiles’ (about the size of a city block) and many discrete time periods (as the context of a location can change hugely over hours of a day or days of a week), and then applies the resulting place context within the parameters of this location grid and time periods.

The resulting PlaceIQ ‘Place Intelligence’ product can uncover the dynamic context of a location; taking the coordinates and time of an anonymous user location, and inferring the dynamic context of this user’s environment – for example; are they at work, what type of work, are they likely a tourist, a recreator, a high value shopper, at a live music event etc…
