PlaceIQ’s Resident Storyteller, Bill Bortz dives into LandMark visitation data to answer the question: “Which dining brands won the most hearts this Valentine’s Day… and who ended up at the singles table?”
This year, we’re keeping it casual for Valentine’s Day and focusing on visits-per-store (the great equalizer) in the casual dining category. 2019’s repeat winner proves again they know how to bring in never-ending crowds — @OliveGarden takes the top spot again for visitation in casual dining. @TexasRoadhouse and @RedLobster took second and third, respectively.
This year, Valentine’s day fell on a Thursday, and it’s easy to spot the bump in the below chart of PlaceIQ visitation data.
While Feb 14th traffic didn’t surpass a typical weekend level for the top two restaurants (Olive Garden and Texas Roadhouse), we all owe Red Lobster kudos for surpassing their typical weekend visits and knocking Cracker Barrel off their spot on the porch rocker for a solid third place overall.
So who got the love? Olive Garden and Texas Roadhouse kept our hearts; Red Lobster swept us off our feet; and as for Cracker Barrel… we were on a break.
