Duncan McCall
CEO & Co-Founder
BIO
Duncan McCall is the CEO and co-founder of PlaceIQ, the leading location-intelligence company that helps brands make better marketing and business decisions.
As a serial innovator, Duncan is credited with inventing the concept of joining movement data to a dynamic map of the real world to offer new context for a new level of understanding – allowing brands, marketers, and enterprises to transform their insight into customers and markets. PlaceIQ’s data is harnessed for mission critical business strategies by the top companies in retail, dining, auto, and more. Duncan is also a widely sought-after speaker on the topic of leveraging location-intelligent data.
Prior to PlaceIQ, Duncan founded and led a venture backed consumer Internet business with the goal of enabling and empowering users of location aware devices. Duncan also built and led IS Solutions Inc., a premier Silicon Valley based System Integrator. His time spent working on RFID and universal positioning startups would later be the foundation on which PlaceIQ was built. Outside of the startup world, Duncan has also made an impact for one of the world’s largest organizations in working for ExxonMobil, in the UK and Asia.
Matt Novick
COO
BIO
Matt serves as Chief Operating Officer of PlaceIQ, with over 10 years of advertising and marketing technology experience. Prior to joining PlaceIQ, Matt served as CFO of Persado, and was tasked with moving the entire management of the company to the United States from Europe, and out of the umbrella of Upstream Mobile Marketing. Before joining Persado, Matt served as CFO — including a stint as Interim CEO — of Magnetic Media after initially joining the team as VP of finance and operations.
Matt got his advertising start serving in both the finance and sales operations organizations at AOL. While at AOL, Matt held numerous positions where he was charged with everything from analyzing sell-through rates and CPMs to organizing sales expenditures and revenue. Before AOL, Matt worked as a business consultant at IBM in the government projects group. Matt received his MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and his BA in economics from The George Washington University.
Drew Breunig
EVP, Strategy
BIO
Drew Breunig leads business application efforts at PlaceIQ, mapping client needs and goals to PlaceIQ’s audience, data and analytics products. Drew aims to make advertising and customer intelligence more effective, insightful and manageable through the use of local intelligence.
Drew joined PlaceIQ after spending the better part of a decade crafting brand and media strategies for advertising agencies and their clients, including HP, Glaxo Smith Klein, EA and Boost Mobile.
Eddie Smith
SVP, Revenue
BIO
Eddie has been with PlaceIQ for three years and is currently the SVP of Sales, where he leads revenue production.
Eddie has over 20 years experience building data & technology companies within the digital world. Prior to PlaceIQ, Eddie worked at Twitter as Head of Ads API, growing Twitter’s Ads API ecosystem from zero to producing hundreds of millions in transaction revenue annually, in addition to leading Twitter’s business development team. Before Twitter, Eddie was Chief Revenue Officer with Topsy, where he led sales, business development and marketing disciplines which brought to market world-class analytics and search solutions leveraging social data. Previous positions include senior product & business development roles with USA Data and DoubleClick.
Eddie holds a master’s degree in Advertising from Florida State University.
Dan Maxwell
SVP, Product & Technology

Dan has been with PlaceIQ for three years, and is the SVP of Product and Technology. Throughout his 15 year career in data, advertising, and marketing technology, Dan has held a variety of roles that have spanned Corporate Development and Strategy, Operations, and Product Management. Dan began his career at Advertising.com where he served in a strategic role that saw him launch a joint venture in Japan and serve as business lead on nearly $1BN in acquisitions over the course of two years. Later, he served in a variety of roles at INVISION, Inc, Vibrant, Verve, and the Rubicon Project while also launching his own consulting business where he worked with various other companies to define product and operations strategy.
Dan holds a MBA concentrated in Finance from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business
Manik Khanna
VP, Business Development & Monetization
BIO
Manik leads business development, channel partnerships, and data acquisition at PlaceIQ. With over 15 years of experience in data, mobile, and marketing technology, Manik brings a wealth of experience scaling emerging technologies and business models. Prior to PlaceIQ, he was Director of Monetization at Amobee (acquired by SingTel in 2012), where he built the publisher and supply side platform business from the ground up – enabling publishers like Accuweather, Sprint, and Boost Mobile to grow their mobile advertising revenue. While at Amobee, Manik built a global advertising and business operations team that managed advertising platforms catering to 1.2Bn mobile subscribers through Amobee’s global carrier business with clients like Vodafone, Telefonica, Rogers Wireless, and SingTel.
Manik holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Southern California in Electrical Engineering and Signal Processing.
