WHITE PAPER

How will the iOS 13 permission changes affect your business?

During Apple’s 2019 Annual Developer Conference, the company announced a set of changes to location data permissions on iOS 13.

In summary, these are the primary updates being made:

  1. iOS 13 changes how users grant permission to applications for the collection of location data.
  2. iOS 13 requires apps to obtain a user’s location permission before obtaining WiFi metadata.
  3. iOS 13 requires apps to request a user’s permission before using Bluetooth APIs.

So what does this all mean for the location data ecosystem and its players?

In the white paper: iOS 13 Location Permission Changes, we discuss Apple’s approach to data control, how this will affect advertisers and data users, and our predictions for any long term changes to the data landscape.
